The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
