Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 And let him share my task 32 so that we exalt You 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 Go, you and your brother with My signs, and do not be negligent of My Remembrance. 42 Go, both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds. 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
