Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
