The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
