He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
