The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)

۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
