And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 AND [remember that] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world - whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring. [It shall be given] to all who attain to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust; 36 And those who avoid heinous sins and indecencies, and when they are wroth forgive. 37 and who respond to [the call of] their Sustainer and are constant in prayer; and whose rule [in all matters of common concern] is consultation among themselves; and who spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage. 43

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
