Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 separating one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
