The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 by a burning fire 5 When they sat by it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
