۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 Are we then not to die 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
