The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And clustered plantains, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 Gushing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for the people of the right hand 38
