Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

HaMeem. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
