The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
