The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
