We sent Noah to his people, and he said: "O people worship God; you have no other god but He; for I fear the retribution of the great Day may fall on you." 59 The chieftains of his people said: Lo! we see thee surely in plain error. 60 (Noah) said, "My people, I am not in any error, rather I am a Messenger from the Lord of the Universe, 61 "I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you. And I know from Allah what you know not. 62 “And are you surprised that an advice came to you from your Lord through a man amongst you, so that he may warn you and that you may fear, and so that there be mercy upon you?” 63 But they rejected him, and We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark: but We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our signs. They were indeed a blind people! 64
