Have the unbelievers not seen that the heavens and the earth were sewn up as one (solid) mass, then We unstitched them, and that We made every living thing of water? Will they not believe! 30 We set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should sway under them, and We placed therein passages for paths so that they might find their way. 31 And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 And We appointed not for any human being before thee immortality; if thou then diest, are they to be immortals? 34 Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned. 35 When the unbelievers see you they make you an object of fun, saying: "Is he the one who mentions your gods?" They say so, and yet they reject with disdain the very mention of the Most Compassionate Lord. 36 The human was created of haste. Indeed, I will show you My signs; so do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 And they say: When will this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? 38 If only the unbelievers could apprehend the moment when they would neither be able to ward off the fire from their faces and their backs, nor help reach them! 39 Nay, but [the Last Hour] will come upon them of a sudden, and will stupefy them: and they will be unable to avert it, and neither wilt they be allowed any respite. 40 And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule. 41
