Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
