The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 And shade extended 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
