50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known term? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
