Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 as black camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
