Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 noble scribes 11 who know what you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
