The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
