And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
