And a sign for them is the dead earth; We gave it life and We produced from it grain, so they eat from it. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 So that they may eat from its fruits, whereas they are not manufactured by their hands! So will they not be grateful? 35 Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 The sun runs to its fixed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower. 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride. 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 When they are told, "guard yourselves against what is before you and what is behind you, in order that you may be shown mercy," [they turn away]. 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
