Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Woe to the liars 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
