The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away. 1 There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport, 2 With their hearts occupied (with evil things) those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?" 3 He said: "My Lord knows whatever is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He hears all and knows everything." 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 And We sent not before thee but men unto whom We revealed; so ask the people of the admonition if ye know not. 7 And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to abide (forever). 8 Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors. 9 Now We have sent down to you a Book wherein is your Remembrance; will you not understand? 10
