Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
