Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Woe to the liars 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
