The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 And your garments purify! 4 And stay away from idols. 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he looked, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
