Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 Warn the men. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
