The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
