The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
