Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions lined up 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
