The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
