Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp, 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20
