The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he was created of gushing water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and so am I: 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
