Moses said, "Lord, grant me courage. 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 By him confirm my strength 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go, you and your brother with My signs, and do not be negligent of My Remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
