No, by the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
