The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
