Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known term? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
