T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 all that is in the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and all that is underneath the soil. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 God - there is no deity save Him; His [alone] are the attributes of perfection! 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Let not the unbelievers who follow their vain desires make you forget the Day of Judgment, lest you will perish." 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
