The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 but they belied all Our signs so We seized them with the seizing of the Mighty, Powerful. 42 Are your people who deny the truth better than those? Or have you been given immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: “We are a strong legion, strong enough for victory?” 44 [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]. 45 Nay, but the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter. 46 Surely the guilty are in error and distress. 47 On the day when they are dragged upon their faces in the fire – “Taste the heat of hell.” 48 We have indeed created all things by a proper measure. 49 and Our ordaining [a thing and its coming into being] is but one [act,] like the twinkling of an eye. 50 And We have indeed destroyed your kind, so is there one who would ponder? 51 All things they do are (recorded) in the books; 52 every action, small or great, is noted down. 53 Indeed the pious are amidst Gardens and springs. 54 At the still centre in the proximity of the King all-powerful. 55
