No! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
