The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
