Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Praise is due to Allah, who has created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light. Yet the unbelievers make (others) equal with their Lord. 1 He it is who created you of clay and then decreed a term - and a term determined is with Him - yet ye waver. 2 He is Allah in the heavens and the earth; He knoweth your secret and your publishment, and He knoweth that which ye earn. 3 Never came there unto them a revelation of the revelations of Allah but they did turn away from it. 4 They have refused the Truth (Muhammad's message) that has come to them but they will soon learn the consequences of their mocking. 5 Have they not seen how many a generation before them We have destroyed whom We had established on the earth such as We have not established you? And We poured out on them rain from the sky in abundance, and made the rivers flow under them. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and created after them other generations. 6 Had We sent down on thee a Book on parchment and so they touched it with their hands, yet the unbelievers would have said, 'This is naught but manifest sorcery.' 7 And they said, “Why has not an angel been sent down to him?” And had We sent down an angel, then the matter would have been finished, and they would not get any respite. 8 And [even] if We had appointed an angel as Our message-bearer, We would certainly have made him [appear as] a man - and thus We would only have confused them in the same way as they are now confusing themselves. 9 And indeed before your time (O Muhammad!) many a Messenger has been scoffed at; but those who mocked at them were encompassed by the Truth they had scoffed at. 10
