The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
