The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ How far, how far, is that which you are promised. 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 A blast struck them for a just cause, and We made them look like withered leaves. God keeps the unjust people away from His mercy. 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after the other. Every time an apostle came to a people they denied him. So We made one follow the other (to its doom), and turned them into bygone tales. Cursed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 They said, "Should we believe in two mere mortals who are like ourselves and whose people are our slaves?" 47 So they denied them – therefore became of those who were destroyed. 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
