Exalted is He who put constellations in the heavens, a radiant lamp and an illuminating moon -- 61 He it is Who caused the night and the day to succeed each other so that everyone who desires may learn a lesson or become grateful. 62 For, [true] servants of the Most Gracious are [only] they who walk gently on earth, and who, whenever the foolish address them, reply with [words of] peace; 63 who pass the night prostrating and standing to their Lord. 64 And these who say: our Lord! avert from us the torment of Hell; verily the torment thereof is perishment. 65 Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence." 66 And those who, when spending, neither exceed the limits nor act miserly, and stay in moderation between the two. 67 And those who call not unto other god along with Allah and slay not any soul which Allah hath forbidden, save in justification, and commit not fornication. And whosoever shall do this, shall incur the meed. 68 Whose punishment will be doubled on the Day of Judgement, and he will live for ever in disgrace, 69 But only those who repent and believe and act righteously will have their sins replaced by virtue; God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 70 And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance. 71 And those who bear not false witness and, when they pass by idle talk, pass by with dignity; 72 And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat. 73 And those who say: our Lord bestow on us coolness of eyes from our wives and our offspring, and make us unto the God-fearing a pattern. 74 They will all receive Paradise as their reward for their forbearance and patience, where they will be greeted with, "Peace be with you." 75 Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence. 76 Say (O Muhammad, unto the disbelievers): My Lord would not concern Himself with you but for your prayer. But now ye have denied (the Truth), therefor there will be judgment. 77
