A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein. 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 The sun shall not outstrip the moon, nor shall the night outstrip the day. Each is floating in an orbit. 40 And a token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship, 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
