The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But save him who fears 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
