The gates of Heaven shall not be opened for those who rejected Our signs and arrogantly spurned them; nor shall they enter Paradise until a camel shall pass through the eye of a needle. That is how We repay the evil-doers, 40 Gehenna shall be their cradle, above them coverings. Even so We recompense the evildoers. 41 But those who believed and did righteous deeds - We charge no soul except [within] its capacity. Those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally. 42 And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment, [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth." And they will be called, "This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do." 43 The Companions of the Garden will call out to the Companions of the Fire: "We have indeed found the promises of our Lord to us true: Have you also found Your Lord's promises true?" They shall say, "Yes"; but a crier shall proclaim between them: "The curse of Allah is on the wrong-doers;- 44 Who debar (men) from the path of Allah and would have it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Last Day. 45 And between the two there will be a barrier. And there will be persons who [in life] were endowed with the faculty of discernment [between right and wrong,] recognizing each by its mark. And they will call out unto the inmates of paradise, "Peace be upon you!" - not having entered it themselves, but longing [for it]. 46 ۞ When their eyes fall on the inmates of Hell they will say: "O Lord, do not place us in the crowd of the vile." 47
